La table de potier, conception de la vaisselle dans l'atelier de céramique portugais

Casa Pipa is a project

Which aims to promote Portuguese craftsmanship

Portugal, everyone knows. It's this beautiful little country, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. We love it for its warm people, its varied landscapes, its mild climate, its generous dishes...

Personally, what I like above all in Portugal is the way tradition and modernity coexist. It is a country in perpetual motion, which does not neglect its past. If you come to Lisbon in June, you will see how popular customs continue to animate its inhabitants!

And this love for traditions is strongly reflected in the importance of craftsmanship in Portugal. Ceramics, wood, enamel, glass, fabric... Portugal is full of passionate people with unique know-how. This is what I wanted to convey through Casa Pipa.

Hello it's me

The person behind Casa Pipa

My name is Selma Braquessac, and after traveling around Portugal to meet dozens of artisans for a year, I launched Casa Pipa.

Formerly Digital Project Manager, I didn't know much about craftsmanship. It is with great curiosity and joy that I discovered this world. I had the chance to visit ceramic, wood, enamel workshops... and to observe the stages of creation of the products that I am offering you today. I even had the opportunity to get hands-on by coming up with designs for the nomadic collection, Esmalte .

If I was a novice in the field of crafts, however, I did not choose the art of the table for nothing. I have always been immersed in the culinary world, my father being a cook and my mother a lover of good products. I like to cook for any occasion, at home or in my converted vehicle. So I wanted to offer tableware and table decorations that are both beautiful and durable that meet our needs at home, but also outdoors.

And that's not all

It was also the opportunity to develop a committed project

By choosing to work only with craftsmen in Portugal, I guarantee my clients a real know-how exercised in working conditions conducive to well-being.

The tableware and table decorations that you can find on this website are produced on a small scale in various workshops across Portugal.

The raw materials used come mainly from Portuguese territory and are recycled if necessary by our craftsmen.

The geographical proximity of Portugal makes it possible to limit the impact of transport on the environment.

On our side

We have made several choices with a positive impact

First of all, we make a precise selection to constitute a limited stock. Thus, the craftsmen only produce what we order from them, which avoids any over-production.

Then, we made the choice of zero plastic. We use organic, biodegradable and recyclable products. Our products are carefully packaged in various paper and cornstarch protections. Small thank you cards printed on cotton paper are slipped into your packets before being closed with water-activated paper tape.

If you have other ideas to help us implement positive actions for the planet, we would love to hear from you !
